DON’T LOOK Projects is pleased to introduce Chenhung Chen (b. 1961, Taiwan) to Expo Chicago. The presentation features a series of intricate sculptures and reliefs that weave together industrial refuse and organic metaphors to map the metaphysics of the contemporary moment.

 

At the heart of the concept is the transformation of technological detritus—specifically discarded electrical wires, conduits, and cables—into fluid, sprawling installations. Chen repurposes materials that are heavily charged with both utilitarian function and modern symbolism to interrogate the intersections of energy, connectivity, and cultural knowledge.
